As the sandstorms in Maelstrom Desert were less intense than usual, we took the opportunity to carry an immense operation to bring excavators to the temple site. It took us a little while but we managed to dig up the entrance and get inside. The walls were particularly well-conserved, as if time hadn't passed in there. On the walls and the ceiling, different shapes and symbols were carved, and it took us a few weeks to figure out what was going on. We believe it is a map leading to a location at the center of the deadly Maelstrom Region. According to what we deciphered, there should be something capable of accumulating and using the energy of the desert. As you know, pilots are normally not allowed to go further than the Maelstrom Desert, but we are afraid what the ruins mention is an ancient weapon with an unknown destructive power. As such, we must get there first before it falls in the wrong hands, and for that we need your help. You are the best pilot we have ever seen, and we believe you can make it to that region. We need you to gather as much information as you can. We may be on the brink of a major break-through in archaeology. Good luck!

There seem to be some kind of units sent by someone, an unknown entity that doesn't really like our activities on its turf. Hunt them down!

Hidden relics

We also found some kind of hidden artifacts in the map, we have already found two, but we think there might be more. Our lead scientists discovered that they emit very strong dark energy capable of unnatural behavior. Maybe those are what link all these maps and created the artificial chain.

We extracted and merged very specific parts of the items together. It turned into some kind of a new element of such purity one would think it would be of ancient times. We do not fully understand the process though, so the result may vary.

Eureka! In our quest we managed to finally eliminate Serket's Keeper, the entity guarding this place, and found a mineral with very interesting properties. After thoroughly experimenting on the mineral, Chief Jacob discovered that it can be used to infuse our gears with this ancient technology.
